Don’t tell me I’m not a feminist because I only wear dresses. Don’t tell me I’m not a feminist because I wear make-up and do my hair. Don’t tell me I’m not a feminist because I wear heels. Don’t tell me I’m not a feminist because I shave my legs. Don’t tell me I’m not a feminist because I favour pretty things and hobbies that are “traditionally” considered feminine. I love who I am, I’m happy with my life, and I don’t put up with crap, female or male. I don’t live my life or decide what I like based on anyone elses preferences. I’m a slave to society’s views of women? No, you’re a slave to your pre-concieved ( and I’ll-informed) notion of what a feminist has to be. It’s just as stupid to avoid these things because you feel you must to be a feminist, as it is to do them because you feel you have to be a woman. Woman are not all the same, so by default neither can all feminists. I’m a feminist, I believe in the power and strength of women, I believe we can be whatever and whomever we please. So do NOT tell me I can’t be who I am and still be a feminist.
